It's the most wonderful time of the year—and we aren't talking about Christmas. That's right, it's officially Girl Scout cookie season, which means bring on the Thin Mints, Caramel deLites (AKA Samoas), and Peanut Butter Patties (AKA Tagalongs).
"Girl Scout Cookie season is always a moment of joy and tradition, and this year promises to be incredibly exciting," Wendy Lou, who oversees the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) cookie program, said in a January 6 release announcing celebrating launch day. "We're thrilled to introduce the new, delicious Exploremores cookie to the iconic cookie lineup people know and love."
While Toast-Yay! and S'mores cookies have officially been retired, Exploremores, a cookie inspired by rocky road ice cream, will make their cookie menu debut.

"Filled with delicious flavors of chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond–flavored crème, Exploremores reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout," a release shared with Southern Living read when the flavor was announced in September 2025.
Exploremores join classics like Thin Mints, Caramel deLites (Samoas), Peanut Butter Patties (Tagalongs), Peanut Butter Sandwich (Do-si-dos) and Trefoils, as well as newer cookies like Lemonades and Adventurefuls.
The beloved Girl Scout cookie season goes beyond a simple entrepreneurial program—it's the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls.
"Each cookie season, Girl Scouts develop important life skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics through the Girl Scout Cookie Program," the GSUSA release stated. "All proceeds from cookie sales stay with local councils and troops to power Girl Scouts' amazing experiences year-round."

"My favorite part of cookie season is trying all the cookies with my troop before cookie season even starts," Reddick says, adding that her favorite is a toss up between Thin Mints or the new Exploremores.
Florence's mom, Brooke, says Girl Scouts has been instrumental for her daughter.
"Girl Scouts gave Florence the space to grow into her quiet confidence and form meaningful friendships," she tells Southern Living. "I am so thankful for a program that works intentionally to make every girl feel included."
How To Purchase Girl Scout Cookies
The best way to purchase Girl Scout cookies is by contacting a scout directly. If you don't know a Girl Scout, you can use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder by entering your zip code.
"With every purchase, consumers directly support local Girl Scouts' abilities to explore more opportunities in STEM, the outdoors and more," Lou stated in a release.
